Canada, Eh?

 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.  In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. -1 John 4:9-11

Molly has now been in Canada a week, so I thought I’d give you all a quick update. She is very busy and still adjusting to life on the reservation, but she is doing quite well. The area is very rural and it is a 45 minute drive to get to “town”. She shares a room in the church with a squirrel (whom she has named Hammy), though he mostly reside in the walls. The local people think she has a funny accent, which she finds amusing! She has a great relationship with the missionaries she is serving with in Alberta. They are kind and wonderful people. Molly is really getting to see what the life of a missionary entails. In other good news, they are teaching Molly how to play the piano. She is learning so many things!

As is often the case, there is more work to be done than there are hands to perform it, so she has a full schedule. She is excited to be making connections with some of the girls and is working to develop relationships with them.  She was also warmly welcomed into the women’s bible study group and will be co-leading the bible study devotionals throughout the summer.

On the other hand, it is a place greatly in need of prayer.  She has seen many hard and painful things. There is a lot of darkness and suffering. Please pray her light shines brightly. It is definitely a big adjustment for her. She has had to purchase a locking gas cap, a lock for her suitcase, and she can’t have her phone out to use during the day because it will be stolen. Yet, for all these reasons, she is thankful for where God has placed her and she prays for His love, wisdom, and courage.
